First real Army Combat Fitness Test, and hopefully one of the last ones I take.  I made big money on the deadlift, pushups, and plank; I knew I was going to do poorly on the standing power throw and sprint-drag-carry, so I left it at that.

Why do I call it "overhead yeet?"  Because reddit:

I wanted to take advantage of the temperature before it got hot again, and decided to go for a long run - which felt better than I expected, but I need to be careful not to overtrain. I was trying not to exceed lactate threshold, which according to my Garmin Forerunner is around 156. That actually feels about right, even though my zones aren't quite in the right spot. I've adjusted the watch to compute from lactate threshold heart rate rather than the percentage of max heart rate, which has always not been quite right for me.

Dislocation

I was reminded of something tonight, being around places I used to live but no longer can call home. This is about something totally different, but the notion of the future opening like a black cone has something that resonated with me when I first read this book 25 years ago.

I wasn't sure how I'd feel but I needed to get at it and I wasn't going to row as my right arm was feeling some small amount of pain. I went out pretty good and then proceeded to go fast and hard. Garmin Connect says I'm overreaching, but I felt a lot better after this run.

The fact that I ran negative splits from the first half to the second half was an indicator of how hard I was going. I may regret it, but whatever. The worst part of it is the lack of consistency, something I need to work on in earnest.

I was experimenting with a higher drag factor and I go faster on higher drag factors, which seems to run counter to what I read in most rowing guides, where often they advise a drag factor of only 100. I seem to get better results with a drag factor closer to 125 or even 130.
