For whatever reason, I decided to take a try at a run and I felt FROGGY. Not sure why, but I clocked an unusually fast run today and I felt pretty damn good. I may pay for it later, but I tried to get in a cooldown to see if it'll help tomorrow. I sure hope so.

My legs were sore from yesterday but I decided to see if I could pull 5km without blowing anaerobic threshold, which I did. This will do for now. But I should do something more substantial tomorrow.

I need to start rowing again given that I take the ACFT in less than a month and I don't want to hate myself for rowing 5K. I am seriously thinking about sandbagging the test to meet minimums+1 or something like that because I am kind of tired of Army bullshit.

I was planning on rowing earlier but no such luck as I had a pill stick in my throat and it was causing massive heartburn symptoms. I finally dislodged it but good god did that suck ass.

I also realized that running to work is coming with consequences that frankly hurt afterwards, so not awesome.

I decided to try running in to work. My knees did not enjoy it, nor did my right foot, where I've been nursing a bad case of plantar fasciitis. But at least I got something in, which was the goal.

Weather was too good to pass up and I went out for what I thought would be 4 easy. By about 2/3 through I felt pretty good and started to speed up, which generated a significant negative split. I also took some time to cool off afterwards, which I hope will affect how I feel.

First run in a while-- 8 days. Work has been crazy again, but the weather is starting to cool off and it was too good an opportunity to pass up. I got caught in the second leg at a soccer game being played at Dickinson College when the national anthem was played, which explains the unusual negative split in the second leg. The return leg was also remarkably fast, which I chalk up to some of the momentum I picked up on the mid-point.

I decided I had just enough energy (a day of relatively few interactions with people) to get in a run, even though the heat index was 97 when I started. I figured I'd go easy and see how I felt, which was surprisingly good given the heat. I also had taken a few days off so I needed to get this one in while I still had the wherewithal to do so. I was rewarded with a fairly steady run for pace, which was probably a good thing. Certainly better than Doing Nothing.
