My legs were absolutely destroyed today. They started out tired and it sort of went downhill from there. I wanted to do two things, however:

1. Get a run along the airfield berfore it floods (the Missouri River is slated to exceed flood stage Real Soon Now)
2. See if I could get glycogen regenesis going (which I believe happened).

There was a noticeable improvement in how I felt starting at around the 55-minute mark and it wasn't just because I was running on level ground. That improvement stayed in place even on the gentle uphill going back.

I walked some. I didn't want to redline myself (although with a max HR of 184, I did at some point today).

I deliberately didn't pay attention to how crappy my splits were today. That wasn't the point.

I'm taking tomorrow off. Sad thing is that even after all this work, I still ran only about 20 miles this week. Sad, sad, sad.
