I slept in yesterday, and it felt pretty good. Today's run felt okay at first but felt much better by around the 4-mile mark.
As usual, I felt SIGNIFICANTLY better at about the 4-mile mark. Between that, and the generally flatter terrain (miles 3 and 4 were mostly uphill) I suspect that had something to do with it also.
I had forgotten about Material Issue, which was one of my favorite power-pop guilty pleasures during my college years. I was sorry to hear that lead singer Jim Ellison had committed suicide in 1996. The market for power-pop, alas, has decreased a lot since the early 90s.
I was pondering the politics of what combat service identification badge to wear today, briefly, which sparked the two divisional songs at the end.
