Some of my peers are surprised to find that I had a not-insubstantial grounding in the fine arts (primarily music and theater).
I chanced across Maira Kalman's blog (now recently concluded) The Pursuit of Happiness after I returned from Afghanistan. It was the Memorial Day part of this blog that, in a single reading, ensured that I'd follow this blog all the way to its end.
That Memorial Day blog entry was particularly poignant - having just left Fort Campbell, there was something about that part that really digs at me.
