I almost chickened out this morning. My legs for whatever reason are sore, and I suspect it's mostly the snow running over the last few days that's to blame. On the bright side, the splits are starting to approach what they were beforehand, which still indicate lots of need for improvement, but are an improvement over not running at all.

My running mechanics on snow are different than they are for fair-weather running. I find that I often become a heel striker in a way that I'm not when I'm running on more permissive terrain. Much of that is to gain the traction that I need, things I don't worry about most of the time.

I spent over four hours yesterday in a doctor's office, waiting for a rediagnosis of my right hand, which says exactly what an Army neurosurgeon said a while back - that my C6 and C7 vertebral disks are compressed, and that I may need a steroidal injection to reduce the inflammation to a reasonable level. Awesome. I guess it beats spinal surgery!
