I got off a rather pointed phone call with the OPFOR commander tonight. It was probably coming, but I needed to get in a run to work off the angst that was left over after the phone call. So I ran, not hard, because my legs are too dead to do it, but hard enough to think through my frustrations.

Today marks twenty years since I entered active duty as an Army officer.  My life right now is not what I expected 20 years ago.  It's not, for that matter, 14 years ago either.

Five years ago I thought I might be able to get through graduate school and a job.  I didn't think I could do graduate school, job, and divorce.  I remind myself, occasionally, that graduate school is over, but when I finished, I didn't have the fortitude to face the choice that is starting to loom.

Perhaps that's why tonight's iThink was what it was.
