I tried to get out the door earlier today as I had a few things I was meaning to do. A short run followed by the usual work (although I wimped out and went only 15 for all beyond the bench presses).

I think it's working, although I've been noticing that I've been gaining weight lately - which I attribute to muscle mass. I think there may be some weight loss later on if I continue to do this, which is pretty time-intensive (for me, at least, as I don't spend that much time in the gym ordinarily).

It is making me fitter, which is kind of important, at least for me. I don't know about anyone else.

Yesterday I didn't do anything, or intended to, until I ended up digging up four bushes outside my house. That required some work. As I told the neighbors (who probably didn't appreciate the humor), "stay in practice, kill something every day." Hacking away with an axe validates that"Kill something every day" ethos, admittedly.

The Paul Simon song recalls my drive out from North Carolina to Kansas back in 2006, and that song was very much part of the background for the move and my first few months here.
