First day trying to get up early, as I signed in off leave yesterday. Fun. At least I had an appropriate mantra in the back of my mind...
Perhaps I'm not the morning person I thought I was, but I woke up without a whole lot of handwringing. Then I wogged my ass to the gym, thought I was going to row 10,000, scaled back to 8,000, and then realized that I'd be out of time if I went much more than 5,000.
The lifting I've been doing has been paying off. I was holding about 2:07.2/500m or so, a substantial improvement over what I was doing in Afghanistan (where I did zero lifting at all) and a sizeable improvement over my last session on the erg a month prior. Of course, it helps when I've actually been doing PT regularly (or something like that) for the last month.
