Mostly negative splits after two days of unintentional rest. I had a slow start, or at least, something that felt slow since I'd trimmed off sleep in the last few days and it was starting to catch up. The three second difference from pacing in the first 1.5 and the usually much slower 2.1 was encouraging, and it just went from there. For a course that's generally hilly, this should be a good sign.

I think I'm going to try to run the 82d Airborne Division intramural 10-miler as a bandit, as a training run. That should be a good litmus test to see where I actually stand when I'm in competition, as I always seem to run faster in competition than I do in training.

This begs getting a running partner of equivalent speed, but I don't see too many who are either not too fast for me or too slow.

Interestingly, my knees don't hurt so bad today, in spite of running on shoes that really warrant replacement. Their replacements are already in the mail, though. Could be because of the two days of unintentional rest.
