Today didn't feel that hard, but it was, based on heart rate readings. I don't think I would've worked nearly that hard had it not been for all the patches of ice that were out on the road. That's a powerful incentive to run carefully.
It also makes today the first workout in almost two weeks. I don't remember the last time I took a 2-week hiatus in exercising since, well, when I broke my leg over a decade ago.
This is at least partial acknowledgement that most of what I need to for my papers is revision, since most of the heavy lifting behind the papers are done and I need to sharpen them prior to final submission.
I realize I've gotten slower, but this was an unavoidable consequence of limited time during the day.
I guess I could lay off the occasional Jeremiah Weed and Chartreuse nightcaps, but lately, I don't have much incentive not to. I started with Chartreuse but I have no idea how long that'll last, so I figured I'd go for the much less-expensive (and much less-refined, at that) substitute of Jeremiah Weed...
