Oh, how the mighty have fallen. I got on the Concept2 while the Sledgehammer was at gymnastics practice and thought it might be a good workout. Well, it was, and it was proof positive that three weeks of doing nothing but eating doesn't help much.
I had to step off after the first 2,000, pulling a bit around 1:59-2:00/500m for the first 500m, then realizing that it sucked too bad to stay at that pace. I backed off to 2:08/500m by the end when I finally quit.
I then went back, drank some water, and cranked out a fairly aerobic 5,000 at a much more realistic pace of about 2:10-2:15/500m. My goal was explicitly not to feel like I was going to ralph at the end, which is usually the end of most of my sessions on the Concept2.
I'm going to try to run tomorrow morning. Should be fun since the wind chill was 0F. Yes, ZERO F. Once again, I refer you back to my previous post of Frak. It's. Cold. I think I'll just be happy to run slow distance in an attempt to burn lard until I can regain my base (and shave off some of the weight I've gained in the last month).
