This is perimeter run 79 and my last here in Afghanistan for the past 14 months or so.

Something is definitely not right when I'm killing myself to run a slow 9:00/mile pace and I've been having problems breathing over the last few days, something which I've been treating with albuterol over the last few days to little avail. I haven't done any PT in the last few days because of lack of energy. Today was a deliberate attempt to grind out a run and it sucked ass. When I'm running well into zone 4 just to run under 9 minutes per mile at the end, something is very, very wrong.

I was thinking to myself about something I was told by my old running partner, which is "you will not know how exhausted you really are until after you leave theater." I don't think so, actually. I'm pretty exhausted right now. Fortunately, I'm almost about to leave theater. I realize this because I have no patience for stupid motherfuckers lately, and if you move or think slow, you're going to get yelled at for being a leaf-eater.

There are a variety of reasons why I need to work in places where breaking things and killing people are the raison d'etre for the organization's existence. I realize that, after all this time, I still haven't outgrown the need to be around killers by trade, because I can't stand being around those who don't think that way.
