Today is day 87 of the campaign.

Today was not intended to be a particularly hard run, but I saw a rare window of opportunity to get a good run in while the weather was amazing, so I took it. I was going to run 6, but sneaked in a little extra based on the length of the laps I was taking around the compound.

Today didn't start out fun, and I figured I was going to suck a bit, but by the end, I actually felt pretty good. Just my luck that I really settle in at about the 5 mile mark. The other possibility is that I had actually start burning fat at that point, which I sure hope. Today was deliberately not hard in order to get some of that in. It started out a little ambitiously, but that was quickly dispelled when my legs just weren't up to it.

I was actually reminded of some of the long runs (although 6 is hardly a long run) I did when I was in Iraq, training for what ended up being an ultramarathon. Thus, the unrestrained use of Kristin Hersh on this run.
