5,000m on Concept2 Model D, 21:14.6, 28 FEB 14, Kabul, Afghanistan

Today is day 98 of the campaign.

iThink:
Los Campesinos, "The Sea Is a Good Place to Think of the Future"

WX at 9 AM (14) Feb 28     44 (7)     19 (-7)     30.03 (1017)     ENE 5

Odometer 14A: 31.9mi

Z4.  Average/max heart rate = 167/179

Personal best in the 5,000, if only because I don't row 5km much, and I was rushed to get back to work.  But I needed to get this in so I could at least avoid a "do nothing but eat" day.

I was pleasantly surprised to be able to hold the pace I did, although I did take short stretches of not going as hard so I could get my heart rate back down below 170 before getting at it again.  The finish was just hard, and that's where the MHR of 179 came in.

Where things have been getting strange is the iThink because my tempo is so slow, ranging around 22-24spm.  In spite of the slower tempo, I've been rowing faster because I've been concentrating more on form and power rather than speed.
