Today started as slow wogging, but turned into some fairly disciplined tempo work. This was the first day I forced myself to get out of bed and finally run. I'd slept in the last three days largely because I felt too tired to do much of anything.

My desire to burn lard overcame my generally wanting to sleep in. This is important.

The steady acceleration was a nice touch this morning. I did three miles going the normal direction on a tartan track this morning, followed by three miles in the opposite direction. Wind was definitely a factor - as well as the guy who started running in lane 1 opposite to me on mile 5. Because of that, I think I started grinding faster and the momentum was settled by the time he departed and I hit mile 6.

All in all, not a bad run, but doesn't obviate my doing my usual long run tomorrow.
