6 day sabbatical from any running and I have this. Altogether not so bad. For not running HARD, I guess I can't be too bummed out.

I think my legs have gotten used to running faster as I have to control my starting pace. It didn't feel like I was going abnormally fast at the start, although it might have.

Discipline, discipline, discipline. I need to get back into the saddle. Still for not attempting to kill myself, this is promising, on my first run back home since returning from CBKS (Carlisle Barracks in abbreviation).

We bought a minivan, primarily at Household6's urging. In doing so, we traded in the Exploder (a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT that had been a faithful servant over the last five years). The van, which I haven't given a snippy name, drives quite nice, actually. This is one vehicle where my prevailing thoughts of "less is more" came into play. One motorized door on the starboard side, no automatic headlights, no GPS, no CD changer. It does have, however, a tape player (which is useful, mind you) and a tire pressure management system. That, and a trip computer.

I still hate buying cars. The salesman was nice enough, but the experience still chafes me.
