I probably went a little faster, but today was a catharsis run to the best of my ability without digging too deep. Various issues, both personal and professional, were contributors. That’s about all I want to say about it right now.
Today’s run was supposed to be at marathon pace, but I’m reevaluating whether I really want to try to hold an 8:23 pace for the marathon itself. I think I’ll be looking at a less ambitious goal for my first marathon anyway. Finishing is the goal not so much as trying to run a PR. Any time that results in a finish is a PR, since it’s my first.
