I decided on a less punishing course today, but didn't count on my warmup being slower than usual. I didn't feel fully warmed up until about the 3.5mi mark, a little late by my standards. I felt fine afterwards, but I was working a lot harder to hold 9:00/mi going downhill until then, and on the way back, was closer to 8:30/mi on rolling hills afterwards. Slow day.
My pushups and situps are returning to what I consider acceptable levels. Got in 75 of each this morning, but I need to get up to at least 100 in each before I lay off. Should take about a week.
Snippets of Matthew Sweet's "We're The Same" sneaked in this morning, but I was in a Bob Mould kind of mood, so I ruthlessly suppressed it in favor of one of my favorite Husker Du songs EVER. Nothing warms my heart like a little controlled screaming.
Either that, or I needed an antidote to the royal wedding this morning. I still stand by my assertion that romance novels and porn are responsible for more heartbreak than anything else in the world.
