This is perimeter run 24.

I am officially under a year left.

It was really 15mph gusting to 32. Seriously.

I felt like I need to do these long runs to occasionally clear my mind. Lately, my mind sticks on one or two things at work, and bizarrely enough, about ex-girlfriends from the distant past.

Tangentially, I also remember that today's Father's Day. It sure doesn't feel like it at all. At all.

The thought that I can't shake at work, especially after starting to watch Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica, is that every sustainable democracy has had to fight a civil war. As we are trying to build a sustainable democracy, where one didn't really exist before, I wonder about the validity of that statement from time to time. I also wonder if we're really doing the right thing from time to time.

For what it's worth, "Gaeta's Lament" is, as you might guess, from this season of Battlestar Galactica.

Alone she sleeps in the shirt of man
With my three wishes clutched in her hand
The first that she be spared the pain
That comes from a dark and laughing rain
When she finds love may it always stay true
This I beg for the second wish I made too
But wish no more
My life you can take
To have her please just one day wake
