I was witness tonight, in Omaha's Qwest Center, to The Cheetah Girls in concert with Vanessa Hudgens and some other girl singer whose name has already been dumped from my memory.
There were men there who I'm sure there were there at their daughters' behest. I was just surrounded by scores of girls, all in the ages of, well, under 10. One woman I spoke to said her husband wouldn't come. Another took their youngest and then went to the casino. They don't have a hair on their ass.
We bought two t-shirts. Cheetah Girls t-shirts. To the tune of $30 a piece. $60 for a pair of shirts?! Ah, rochambeau for pre-teenybop swag...
Thank god for combat earplugs. Those seriously saved my bacon. After a decade of heavy weapons fire and jumping out of planes, my hearing is trashed anyway, but I'm trying to save what little I have left.
The redeeming feature of it was seeing some new Hilary Duff video. Guilty pleasure, but Hilary Duff is pretty hot, actually. Curiously appropriate, since the song is called "Play With Fire."
