Once again, the inconsistency of GPS splits makes me unwilling to vet this for exact distance, but I spent a lot of time running parts of the American Tobacco Trail, an oddly named entity that's a nice rails-to-trails project in Wake County. It should extend to Chatham County as well.
It was cold but warmed up fast. That's the rough part about trying to estimate amount of snivel gear to really wear. I went one layer down as I rolled up my sweatshirt and started running t-shirt only on the return leg of the trail run.
