I needed to get out and hit the roads for the first time while on leave. It's been a few days - and I don't get nearly as bent out of shape when it's 115F (45C) outside There were segments where it was obviously easier to work (partly because of temperature, partly because of elevation, since I'm at sea level). It was the hills that required some more concerted work.
I am on leave with the OPFOR Commander, the Princess, and the Sledgehammer. I should be thrilled, but it's not necessarily thrilling. Going on deployment doesn't fix things by itself that need to be fixed with more deliberate effort. Sometimes it just gets put on hold, sometimes it gets worse. It is what it is.
All I know is that I have 386 days until I get paroled for good.
