I started much earlier, about 5:30am, but it was still too late. The first of my three laps was bad enough - the second was easier, and by the time I was hitting my third, it was just unpleasant. The negative split at the end was because of the desire to just get it over with. The acceleration at mile 3 didn't feel as sharp as it actually was, but I was probably just warmed up.

Heat matters out here. Walking from the PX here to the building I was working in was crazy hot.
