For some reason, I was working a lot harder when I had instrumentation in front of me. This is also a function of running on the dreadmill, but I hadn't planned on running outside (overcast, mist, and 4-lane high-speed roadway = death wish) and the ellipticals were in use.
"Blue Orleans" makes for a bizarrely inconsistent running mantra, but it would not budge. This is not to say that I don't like Michael Manring's guitar work (q.v. 1986's 'Unusual Weather') but I don't normally associate running to it, either.
